polly and emma painting

Hi all! started with good intensions, and now little hobbies are randomly springing up.
As winter is now in full swing, I have been a little motivated and nearly finished a painting I have been meaning to do. I loved the photograph I took of two of my good friends Polly and Emma,
so I have converted them into acrylics and enlarged them on canvass.

Just a few bits to the finish line now.......Polly's eye, Emma's t-shirt print design, Emma's ring and background near to her head. As this is none worky related and taken me 5weeks to nearly complete, I am classing it as
CRAFTEA. But I do understand that no meeting has taken place for a while.
I am going to instigate a meeting and also open up the entrants.
My girlfriend Polly (the one to the Left in the painting!!) has shown a keen interest.
Living in Brixton I am going to invite her to our blog.
This is to NO WAY think of replacing Miche as with the blog we can continue overseas x
We are sad thou that she will not beable to attend in the future due to the Milage involved.
love as always craftea bloggers x

17th October Knit Fairy Fran x

I know we are taking this blogging as it comes, so I am using it as a motivation diary. Of course trying to see if we can have meets when we can. I still like the odd freaky website to put on the blog e.g. http://www.subversivecrossstitch.com/ too!

Also I loved this cartoon on UTube as we should not get to an obsessive state about certain projects so I am trying to diversify hope you enjoy!

If you cannot open the blog, you can put in The Last Knit into utube search x

I will be updating the blog site with my projects on the go as I had a week off staying in london, but doing tourist stuff including crafts.

Website to Buy & Sell Craft

Hi guys

Instead of resorting to the high street for presents and other purchases, why not check out a crafty website instead & support a crafter.

I'm sure you all know Esty but check out Folksy or the super cool DaWanda

And of course if you're looking to sell some of your craft, all three sites enable you to do that too. :) Hope it provides some inspiration!

Craft Workshops

Hi guys,

I've come across some lovely websites that are are dedicated to craft and offer workshops for crafty peeps! Here are a selection:

The Make Lounge is fantastic with a huge selection of classes for making cute undies, handbags, or maybe Fran might be interested in their crochet amigurmi toys! How cute are they??!

Tea and Make aims to celebrate regional craft. They are having a little fete on Saturday 22 August where you can buy craft - they are also having free workshops on the day too.(Pity they are based all the way over in South London in SE23....!

Create Boutique offers a host of fashion workshops - including making jewellery, organic body cream, leather clutch bag, fascinator etc.

The fascinator workshops sounds really good - perfect for weddings & Ascot. I'm really keen to go to the class for fascinators if anyone is keen...?

Happy Crafting

Fran's next meeting

bonjour people,

we are postponing this weeks meet at Fran's, until August 13th Thurs. There is too much happening this week. However I hope this gives everyone chance to do a little bit more prep or crafting inbetween.

With the golfer golfing

The executive marketer travelling Ireland, york, and spain....ect.

And would you believe a yoga gooroo class!!

So I am quite happy to wait as I have ordered some ticking tape for my crochet applique bags. And, because of the immenant postal strike, I probably won't see it until next week now anyway!
happy crafting x
Fran :)

7th July at Mich's house

Hi guys,
Just needed to upload the photos onto the blog from Miche's night.
I am using craftclub to do the stuff that is fun, so I hope you are
all enjoying your projects too! Although my photo looks like a piece of toast :)
I think the bus is going to take bunny home for some toast!!...and rap up warm in knit queens Karens creations (see next blog!)

Launch of crafTEA!

We had our first crafTEA night at Bron's house on 26th May 2009. Mich, Fran, Karen and Bron each kick started their crafty projects. It was fun to see the very different techniques and ideas that we each had and the reasons for wanting to have craftTEA nights.

We are all in agreement that the biggest challenge will be keeping focussed on craft - and not getting sidetracked. So we made a rule that (unlike Book Club) we don't drink alcohol. It's tea and cake for us, so there's no worry of pricking our fingers after a few glasses of wine!

Fran starts crocheting as knitting has been her life. This will be a new skill and a big challenge to inspire texture and make for a relaxing hobby to do on the......tube, train or even on the top of mountains!! (photo to follow!!!) first few stitches.....(PHOTO)
Not sure what it will become, but bron bought me a bag book for birthday so maybe I will look at some layouts or patterns. Initially thinking cushions, but now bags are a girls best friend x

Bron decided to make a little present for Andrea's baby that was handmade with a personal touch from London. So here is the outline of the double decker london bus and wheels.... now I had better finish it before Emily grows out of the babygro!!

The wheels on the bus....

Karen is knitting a textured multi coloured scarf - complete with pockets! ofcourse a scarf needs pockets as a keen skier someone needs to store her skies and mits!! After the first week of book club Miche had already commissioned Karen to complete some panels to insert into her cushion...that girl needs TEXTURE!! So combining talents we might end up with a textured joint project.....yet to see joint textured cushion as SOMEONE WENT TO GOLF LESSON AND MISSED THE NEXT crafTEA!!! Karen knitting golf jersey......(photo).

Mich started her quilting cushion by cutting panels and arranging the fab fabric into an eye catching design. Pinning together and preparing the panels for sewing homework, shen then moved onto her Gok Wan project. She revamped a vintage cardigan with sparkling diamante buttons, totally transforming into a Gok-tastic cardy!
